Elf
And then I tried to walk around town while listening to a lot of older music. And as amazing as she sounds, I guarantee that you'll find her eerie resemblance to an elf if you see her sing.

It has occurred to me at least 83 times that I continue to like what I like, and that I continue to gravitate towards variations of the same thing. Dresses, music, art, colors, shapes, voices, hairstyles, textures, jokes, style of writing, people, topics. I could try to change it up, but I don't see what the harm is, yet.

If this were a drawing pad, I would draw a goldfish here.
And then here is where I would draw that which is priceless, that which is lovely. I would draw silk.
And finally I would draw dark circles over everything, one overlapping another, until everything is covered.

The jacket has been neatly folded and placed on my chair. The correspondences collected and bundled. I can't be certain I will ever be prepared for this longest goodbye known to my history. But goodbyes are set in motion. I am confronting tonight.

Blackberry
Burberry trenchcoat
MJ party dress
Perfume
Tickets to Austin
I'm sure there are more. But I got the most satisfaction out of these purchases.

It's winter in the city again. It's peacoats and peppermint mochas, subdued colors and fingerless mittens. I am in line again at the shuttle stop a year later. A coworker I met a year ago started talking to me by offering me his wall street journal. It was all very natural. The shuttle stop was the beginning of hope and now it is just a barrage of worthless emotions. It's winter again and this year I am stronger.

Many times I will have to fight the urge to blog. For example, yesterday when I realized I may never be ready for Glen Hansard again. Or how my good pal introduced the guy she's seeing as Smith. But sometimes, if you hold your breath for a second, and swallow whatever that feels like it's coming out back down to where it belongs, the moment will pass. And then afterwards you will even refer to yourself and your feelings as the third person. And everything that you can write about it will have become the past. It can never catch up to you.
