And it's been a long time long time now, Since I've seen you smile

Life is so on.

Beirut's music makes me feel like I am far away, at once placed in a different era and location, some place and time completely remote but familiar. I am alone but content. I am tapping my feet and clapping my hands. I explore. And it is with people who enjoy celebrating life, color and music, and we dance, not with each other -- together, but on our own.

There is no sexuality, just you, and everyone else. Let's talk about our pasts, our dreams and fears, our families and our loves! It is just us now, and we have got every reason to rejoice.

So somewhere in the middle of their concert people got out of their seats and lined up to the edge of the stage. With trumpets, cello, harmonica, banjo, the drums, french horn, violin, xylophone, and everything else that made up momentum, Beirut played. I had never been to a better concert and I had never crashed a better, bigger party. It was such a timely reminder of what's great about humanity and creation, and I went with the best company I could have brought to this festivity.

And I would love to see that day that day is mine.
